Course Overview
The Altair HyperMesh program is an intensive pre-processing course designed for engineers aiming for excellence in Finite Element Analysis (FEA). This course focuses on the critical phase of "Meshing"—the process of discretizing complex geometry into high-quality elements. You will learn to handle large-scale industrial assemblies, perform mid-surface extraction for thin-walled structures, and master 1D, 2D, and 3D meshing techniques. By the end of this course, you will be capable of preparing simulation-ready models for industry-standard solvers like OptiStruct, Radioss, and Abaqus, ensuring high accuracy in structural and thermal simulations.
Technical Curriculum
- Geometry Cleanup: Mastering midsurface extraction and CAD repair for complex industrial components.
- 2D Shell Meshing: Generating high-quality quad/tria meshes while adhering to strict industry quality criteria.
- 3D Solid Meshing: Implementing Hexa-meshing and Tetra-meshing for complex castings and solid structures.
- 1D & Connector Tech: Modeling bolts, seam welds, and spot welds to represent real-world assembly joints.
- Property Assignment: Defining material laws and physical attributes like thickness and beam cross-sections.
- Boundary Conditions: Applying realistic loads, pressures, and constraints to the finite element model.
- Multi-Solver Export: Preparing and exporting simulation-ready decks for OptiStruct, Ansys, and Nastran.
- Post-Processing: Utilizing HyperView to visualize stress results and generate technical validation reports.
